Tower 2
Back to History Section
Tower 2 was put in service on November 29, 1929. It was built by American LaFrance and equipped with a 65-foot mast and dual deck guns. Tower 2 spent most of its years in service at the old Central Fire Station on Elizabeth St. It usually responded to all downtown alarms and several other specified locations. This rig was put out of service around 1960 because the newer steel aerial ladders greatly out performed the water tower.
